Condition
Granit glaze was the trade mark of ‘TR’ pottery. The egg shell like speckling is unique and was produced in both mat and in gloss glaze. It is offered in good collectors’ condition. There are 2 tiny flea bites on the rim, possibly missed in manufacturing. (See image)
The history of Römhild Pottery goes back to 1720, later the company became known as VEB Töpferhof Römhild. Between1948 - 1991 the company manufactured under the direction of Siegfried Gramann. Designs impressed with ‘TR’ such as this one, were produced from around 1950 to1970.
